Trans-Ocean Elevates Two To Vice President
And Announces Several Other Promotions
BELLINGHAM, WA, March 14, 2008 -- Trans-Ocean Products, Inc., the country's leading surimi seafood processor headquartered in Bellingham, WA, announces that it has promoted David Green and Larry Mulvey to Vice President of Operations and Vice President of Business Development, respectively. The company also announced the promotions of Allen Leaf to Director of Finance and Administration and Juan Baldovinos to Controller. Paul Comchoc was also named Manager of Information Technology.
"Dave and Larry have both been significant contributors to this company for a long time and have played vital roles in our continued growth," said Rick Dutton, President of Trans-Ocean Products. "Moving forward, they will take on the added responsibility of establishing long-range goals and strategic plans as we pursue future opportunities for the company."
Prior to being named Vice President of Operations, Green held the position of Operations Manager at Trans-Ocean. Under his leadership, Trans-Ocean has implemented lean manufacturing principles throughout the organization, resulting in improvements in processing efficiency and order fulfillment. Before his tenure at Trans-Ocean, Green served as Plant Manager at Dean Foods Vegetable Company in Bellingham. He currently resides in Ferndale, WA with his family.
New Vice President of Business Development, Larry Mulvey, previously served as National Business Development Manager for Trans-Ocean. In this capacity, Mulvey played a key role in helping Trans-Ocean's Crab Classic brand become the market share leader in surimi seafoods by incorporating category management through the analysis of sales data for the company's major retail customers. He has also built a strong direct sales force and national broker network.
Mulvey previously served as National Business Development Manager for the food broker, Advantage Sales & Marketing, heading its office in Buffalo, NY. A former President of the Buffalo Food Brokers Association, Mulvey resides in Grand Island, NY with his family.
Allen Leaf previously served as Finance Manager for Trans-Ocean before being promoted to Director of Finance and Administration. In this new capacity, Leaf will direct the company's financial planning and budget management functions. He will also be responsible for the management of internal staff and the information technology department. Leaf resides in Bellingham with his family.
Newly named Controller for the company, Juan Baldovinos, had previously served as Assistant Controller. In his new position, Baldovinos will monitor and analyze operating results and budgets and work with department managers to provide financial and costing information. Baldovinos lives with his family in Bellingham.
Paul Comchoc was promoted from I.S. Coordinator to the position of Manager of Information Technology where he is responsible for keeping Trans-Ocean at the leading edge of available technology. He will implement and monitor all information systems, such as data management, networking, hardware needs and software design. He resides in Birch Bay, WA with his family.
Trans-Ocean Products, Inc., founded in 1985, is one of the country's largest processors of surimi seafoods sold under the Classic brand name and also as private labels. The vertically integrated company is a United States subsidiary of Maruha-Nichiro which owns three surimi block plants in Alaska and two floating processor ships in addition to a surimi seafood processing facility in Bellingham, WA.
