Trans-Ocean Products Executive Named To National Fisheries Institute Board Of Directors

BELLINGHAM, WA, May 15, 2008 -- Trans-Ocean Products, Inc., the country's leading surimi seafood processor and headquartered in Bellingham, announces that Louis J. Shaheen, the company's vice president of sales & marketing, has been named to the Board of Directors of the National Fisheries Institute, Inc. (NFI). Located in McLean, VA, the NFI is the leading trade organization promoting safe, sustainable, and affordable seafood as the daily protein food choice for feeding the world. The organization supports its member companies, which include fishermen, seafood processors, distributors and retailers, through research, lobbying and public relations efforts.

Shaheen joined Trans-Ocean in 1996 as vice president and has helped the company and its Crab Classic product line grow to become the #1 selling retail brand of surimi seafood in the United States. In his role on the NFI Board, he will assist the Institute in promoting the benefits of seafood to the public and to consumer media outlets.
