Crab Classic
A few years ago, we became aware that
some people were buying our Crab Classic
Chunk Style and Lobster Classic products
because they were made without wheat
ingredients and thus, satisfied their gluten-free
diet needs. After speaking with people who
suffer from celiac disease and non-celiac gluten
sensitivity, we started to consider making a
change to our wheat-containing products.
Because we could make this change without affecting
the taste and quality of our products, it seemed like the right thing to do.
We are proud to say that effective Fall 2014, our production plant
became a dedicated, 100% gluten-free facility and all of our products
are now gluten-free.

Even though surimi seafood, also known as imitation crab, has been available
in the U.S. since the 1970s there is still a lot of confusion about how our products
are made. It's a centuries-old process started in
Japan in which white fish is cleaned, minced and
flavored and then formed into flake, chunk and
leg style pieces. We use a blend of wild caught,
MSC-certified Alaska Pollock and real king crab
meat to make Crab Classic.
